Decision-support software

Wind Calculator is software designed to assist with the assessment and documentation of wind-classification parameters. It does not provide engineering certification, legal advice, regulatory approval or a guarantee that a result is suitable for a particular building or project.

User responsibility

Users are responsible for verifying all site information, confirming the applicability of AS 4055, reviewing automated suggestions, selecting the final assessment inputs and determining whether professional engineering advice or certification is required. Before calculating a classification, the user must confirm that the proposed building falls within the intended application of the assessment method and that the selected standard and edition are appropriate.

Third-party data

Results may depend on third-party mapping, elevation, imagery and other datasets that may be incomplete, outdated or subject to error. The software output must be reviewed in the context of current site conditions, project information and applicable regulatory requirements. Where higher-resolution data is unavailable, the software may identify a fallback source so the user can apply appropriate caution.

Report status

A report is a structured record of user-confirmed assessment inputs and the classification calculated from those inputs. It is not an engineering certificate, professional sign-off, building approval or guarantee of regulatory acceptance. Reports generated through the software have not been reviewed, certified or issued by a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland.

References to AS 4055 do not imply endorsement, approval or certification by Standards Australia. This website does not reproduce AS 4055 or any other Australian Standard. Professional advice
